Biography
Soprano Adriana Nicole Torres Diaz is pursuing her graduate studies at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music under the guidance of Carol Vaness. A Puerto Rican native, Adriana earned two undergraduate degrees: one in Voice from the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico, and another in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico. Before beginning her studies at IU, she previously studied with Zoraida López and Diana Alvarado.
Torres Diaz previously sang the role of Ceatrice in Suor Angelica under the direction of Antonio Barasorda and Roselin Pabón, as well as Despina in Cosí fan tute at the Third San Luis Opera Festival under the baton of Linsu Lerner. Adriana has performed Atalanta in Xerse, Papagena in Die Zauberflöte, Lisette in La Rondine, and Niña 1 in Ainadamar with the Indiana University Opera Theater.

Beyond the standard repertoire, Adriana sang the role of Venus in the premiere of Pluto, a contemporary opera composed by Michael Polo at the Vienna Summer Music Festival.Offstage, Adriana participated in the WIUX project, Song for Skeptics. She has also been heard in masterclasses with Justino Diaz, Kristin Dauphinais, Joel Prieto, Taylor Stilson, Olga Perez Flora, and Marilyn Taylor.
